Got your wisdom tooth removed? Day 2 or 3 could hit you hard. Here's what to expect and how to deal with it.

– As the anesthesia wears off, your body starts its healing process. Swelling peaks around 48-72 hours, leading to intense pain and discomfort.

– Throbbing pain near the extraction site Swelling and puffy cheek Difficulty opening your mouth (trismus) Minor bleeding Tenderness and sensitivity Note: Severe pain after 3-4 days may indicate dry socket.

– Apply an ice pack for 15-20 minutes at a time. – Take prescribed pain relievers or over-the-counter meds. – Avoid using straws or smoking (prevents dry socket). – Stick to soft foods (yogurt, soup, mashed potatoes).

Eat This: Yogurt, mashed potatoes, smoothies (no straws!), soup. Avoid This: Crunchy foods, spicy foods, soda, and anything that requires chewing.
